Your tab is one of the most important pieces of your equipment, and the exact thickness of your leather can have a big impact on your tuning and shot feeling.
A good rule of thumb is to aim for roughly 1mm of leather thickness per 10 lbs of bow weight.
Leather thickness varies widely, even when you buy the same tab, so it’s always a good idea to check the thickness before buying a tab. And the above rule is a starting point, not a rigid prescription.
